The newest update to the Arc performance score, v3.3, uses updated emissions factors to calculate the energy score, keeping pace with the latest performance thresholds. Projects will be able to update to this version as early as October 27. If no action is taken, in many cases projects will be automatically updated on March 31, 2024.
However, for projects that have a sunsetting rating system, like LEED v4 O+M: Existing Buildings with Performance, the impact will be slightly different. On March 31, 2024, this rating will sunset and projects registered under this rating system will be deactivated. Options for these projects vary based on the actions planned or already taken.
- If your project has already submitted for certification and is under review, the final review must be submitted to GBCI by March 31, 2024. The project’s reviewed score will be based on Arc score v2.1. On March 31, 2024, the project’s Arc score version will be automatically updated to v3.3 and the most current version of the Arc score will be required or recertifications going forward.
- If you plan on submitting for certification under Arc score v2.1 the project may be submitted for certification up until March 31, 2024. The project’s reviewed score will be based on Arc score v2.1. On March 31, 2024, the project’s Arc score version will be automatically updated to v3.3 and the most current version of the Arc score will be required for recertifications going forward.
- If you do not plan to submit your project for review under Arc score v2.1 and wish to keep your project registered for LEED certification, the project must be re-registered in LEED Online under v4.1 O+M. Your registration fee will be waived. If you would like to have your project’s performance data migrated to the updated registration, please contact us once the v4.1 O+M registration process has been completed.
- If you take no action the project will be deactivated on March 31, 2024.
